2012 Water Pollution Control Manager Training

This 2-day course offers certification to meet Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) requirements.

On specified ITD jobs, general CONTRACTORS are required to provide a Water Pollution Control Manager (WPCM) to perform weekly inspections. ITD requires all Contractors to designate a WPCM who must attend an ITD certified 16 hour stormwater management training course. This training is approved by ITD and satisfies the WPCM training requirements. This course provides information for inspecting and implementing measures to control erosion, reduce sedimentation, and prevent water pollution at highway construction sites.

WPCM Qualification/Certification Extension: With the termination of the 2006 EPA Consent Decree, ITD will continue to require a WPCM on all Environmental Protection Agency stormwater permitted projects. For more information regarding WPCM certification and certification extensions see the ITD Stormwater Training website.

The WPCM training format will depend on the outcome of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Construction General Permit (CGP) revision. The revision is anticipated for a February 2012 release. Although, there appears to be indications that the release of a new CGP may not occur at that time. We are standing by for direction from ITD to prepare and present the WPCM Training curriculum.
